Etsy’s Dublin office - Jan Hendzel Studio

Etsy’s new Dublin headquarters beautifully celebrates Irish heritage and landscape through the collaboration of local makers and British woodworkers. Helmed by Gensler and Jeremy Babel of JB/AD, the design embodies the brand’s core values of community and craftsmanship while infusing the spirit of Ireland.

Jan Hendzel Studio was honored to be invited by Jeremy Babel to design and create several key feature pieces for Etsy’s new European headquarters in Dublin. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Irish landscapes, we developed a new body of work, Drumlin.

Named after the geological phenomenon found on the west coast of Ireland and the Irish word “droimnín,” meaning “little ridge,” each piece in the Drumlin Collection features Jan Hendzel Studio’s signature tactility, playing with texture in both soft and hewn ways.

Gensler’s Etsy project in Dublin has recently won the Mix Awards North 2024 Project of the Year, in the Workplace Interiors 30-70k sq ft category. The judges highlighted the project’s unique use of local artists and craftspeople for furniture and finishes, its focus on daylight and biophilia, and its thoughtful incorporation of spaces to support neurodivergent needs. We are incredibly proud to have been part of a project that celebrates craft and provides a platform for local makers to showcase their talent on an international stage.
