Wharf Side Table

£1,190

These side tables were originally designed for a hotel in Bethnal green, and combine a Pippy Oak table top with a reclaimed, turned Pitch Pine through tenon leg. Pippi Oak was chosen for its distinctive knot pattern and Pitch Pine was sourced from a local building in Shoreditch and came with its own splitting cracks. Its unique grain was further enhanced with natural oil.

The details are a visual reminder of the natural variants within timber and material combinations will depend on the availability of stock. We can discuss whether green timbers, meaning freshly sawn, which will begin to crack as they age, or reclaimed materials already imbued with character, is the better material choice for you.

The table top is a perfect surface as a bedside for resting your book at night or works as a side table if resting a glass of water on top. It could even work as a handy perch for sitting. Its generous cylindrical leg makes for a sturdy base.

Also available in a variety of table top profiles.

The Wharf Side Table is one of several pieces from Jan Hendzel Studio’s Town Hall Collection. Defined during the reimagining the two suites of the Grade II listed Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green. Discover the Collection here.

Unless otherwise stated, we choose to finish our products in a nourishing natural hardwax oil that penetrates deep into the timbers surface offering a robust and hard wearing finish. This finish provides a good surface treatment against a variety of spillages and general usage.

Keep your furniture looking its best by wiping it with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid using damp cloths on oil-treated surfaces if possible
