Ruston Bistro Tables

£4,600 £3,200

Designed for apartment-living and smaller confined spaces, this is our contemporary take on the bistro table. Perfect for 2 people dining or 3 or 4 if it’s for cups of tea, the table is a wonderfully unfussy piece of modular furniture made with just four elements; table top, leg, circular brace and feet.
The asymmetrical top gives a more informal feel than traditional bistro tables. Each one is created from an individual piece of timber, held together by loose tongue joinery, and an elegant bevelled edge displays the studio’s flair for joinery.

A combination of cutting techniques, including crown cuts and quarter cuts add distinctive patterns from the choice materials in elm, sycamore or ash, and ensure each top is completely unique.

The leg is crafted from individually cut staves, joined together to create a cylindrical stem for the table top to sit on. The prism-shaped feet mimic the shape of the leg’s staves and give an overall playful feel that the studio often give it.

A unique feature to the table is the cog shaped through tenon at the top of the leg which is a take on the traditional mortise and tenon, allowing the circular brace and table top to lock together in place without the need for adhesives. These are sturdy tables which can easily be assembled and dismantled creating more flexibility in your home.

Designed to be practical without foregoing style.

These bistro tables are available in a choice of sustainably sourced British timbers including Scottish Elm, Sycamore and Ash.

Jan Hendzel Studio have developed a range dining and bistro tables unified by bevelled details, staved construction and unconventional joinery that demonstrate studio’s unique approach to craftsmanship. Discover the collections here.

Unless otherwise stated, we choose to finish our products in a nourishing natural hardwax oil that penetrates deep into the timbers surface offering a robust and hard wearing finish. This finish provides a good surface treatment against a variety of spillages and general usage.

Keep your furniture looking its best by wiping it with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid using damp cloths on oil-treated surfaces if possible
